Tell us the dream: Reach out via our contact form or by phone. Give us your ideas, inspiration photos and measurements. We can give an approximate cost and possibly some more ideas based on wood available.
Source & quote: We'll source the wood either from our own stock or from other local sources and provide a quote. You'll provide 50% of the cost before we start or purchase wood.
Update & deliver: We'll keep you up to date and suggest adjustments to make best use of each unique piece of wood. And in a few weeks, we can deliver your item.
We describe our furniture as "semi-custom" because each piece is shaped by the natural character of the wood itself.
Our materials come from fallen trees, which develop unique markings over time, including spalting—an organic discoloration caused by fungi that adds distinct beauty.
Since no two pieces of wood are alike, the final design emerges as we work with it. While we craft furniture to match your size and functional needs, we invite you to embrace the wood’s natural story in the finished piece.
New York City
Our client Miriam was looking for a live edge coffee table that wouldn't break the bank. We created a "double" live edge table with live edges on the outside and on the inside. We used a thin clear epoxy river to strengthen where the two live edge pieces meet. Miriam is the only person in Queens to own a table just like this.

The basics
A live edge table is a type of table that preserves the natural edge of the wood along the sides of the piece. Instead of trimming the edges to create a straight and uniform look, the live edge approach keeps the original contours of the tree. This means you can see the natural lines, knots, and sometimes bark on the edges of tables. It's a design style that celebrates the raw and organic beauty of the wood, providing a unique and rustic appearance to the furniture.
Cost
The combination of unique materials, skilled craftsmanship, customization, limited availability, specialized drying processes, artistic value, and environmental considerations all contribute to the higher cost of live edge tables.

Style
We would say that it definitely is. Any design that leans heavily on natural elements tends to stand the test of time. Also, interior design continues to trend toward incorporating natural elements and a rustic aesthetic. The unique and organic look, showcasing the natural edges of wood, adds a touch of warmth and character to both modern and more traditional spaces.
Our pieces in particular lean into the natural look of the wood. We don't use brightly colored epoxies or shiny finishes, which can look somewhat unnatural and are more likely to date themselves.
Cost
The price of a live edge table is based on species of wood, length and thickness of the piece or pieces, quality of wood, treatments such as kiln drying, and cost of resin for poured slabs.
The wood alone can vary in price. As an example, if you're sourcing wood from a nearby Hudson Valley mill, you can buy a 9 foot by 18 inch red oak slab for $250. But a black walnut slab of the same size would be $700.
Our wood slabs are individually sourced from fallen trees and most require extensive finishing due to their age and various battle scars. We think these pieces are the most unique and interesting, making them well worth the extra cost.
Care
We recommend sealing, and we seal our pieces to stabilize them and protect them from moisture, scratching and cracking.
