Each of our reclaimed tree stump tables is handcrafted to showcase the unique imperfections, history, and natural beauty of the wood. Ditch mass-produced furniture and bring home a one-of-a-kind art piece for your space.
Our furniture embraces the unique character of each piece of wood. Sourcing fallen trees allows us to showcase natural imperfections and the sought-after beauty of spalting—the distinctive patterns created by fungi.
While we work with you to determine the size and general design, the wood itself guides the final form and appearance of your custom piece.
Westchester, New York
Our client Anna came to us with an interesting proposition. The family had to cut down a beloved tree near their Westchester home. She wanted to save the stumps and reclaim them as side tables and possibly pass them on to the children as they left home. We stripped, dried, sanded and sealed the stumps and turned them into heirlooms.

The basics
A tree stump table is basically a tree stump that has been cut, dried, sanded and sealed. We usually keep ours barely finished or lightly whitewashed. Stump tables celebrate the raw and organic beauty of the wood, providing a unique and rustic appearance to the furniture. And they are amazingly practicle - how many side tables do you own that you can also sit on.
Cost
Tree stump tables are an affordable way to try out a modern rustic style in your home. Although they are relatively easy to make, compared to say a dining table, they do require equipment, skill and space to dry (also for bugs to escape). So, while you might be able to DIY one, it may not be worth the time and expense to do yourself.
Style
We would say yes. Take a look at any major furniture retailer and you'll see stump tables.
Any design that leans heavily on natural elements tends to stand the test of time. Also, interior design continues to trend toward incorporating natural elements and a rustic aesthetic. The unique and organic look, showcasing the natural edges of wood, adds a touch of warmth and character to both modern and more traditional spaces.
Our pieces in particular lean into the natural look of the wood. We don't use brightly colored epoxies or shiny finishes, which can look somewhat unnatural and are more likely to date themselves.
Cost
Tree stump tables range from $200 to $300 with rare woods costing much more.
Care
We seal our stumps with a clear satin water-based polyurethane.
